Hole Locations and a Filling Method for Coprime Planar Arrays for DOA Estimation

Coprime linear arrays (CLAs) have drawn lots of attention. Efforts been made to reveal the hole locations in difference coarrays CLAs, based on which many methods proposed fill holes, lengthening consecutive coarray part and increasing effective degrees freedom (DOFs). Compared with two dimensional (2D) coprime planar (CPAs) are more relevant real applications. However, no closed-form expressions for a CPA found open literature, advantage terms DOFs CPAs has not well explored. In this letter, structure is investigated exact all positions provided. Then, holes-filling method proposed, by most critical holes can be filled such that lags as higher obtained.
